Aging & Knitting & Chatting. Oh My!

I'm a fifty-something woman, trying out blogging, having failed at an online journal. I'm interested in almost everything; there's no telling what an entry might be about. As a sign my mother once gave me says, "Stay Tuned. I could say something BRILLIANT at any moment!"

A Quiz

Some who know me know that the most artistic talent I have is a good sense of color. So I found this quiz interesting. Naturally, I would have preferred a purple brain, but I think this outcome quite acceptable.

What Color is Your Brain?

BLUE:

At work or in school: I like to be with people, sharing with them, inspiring them, and helping them. I work and learn best when I can take into consideration people and the human element. I flourish in an atmosphere of cooperation.
With friends: I always look for perfect love. I am very romantic, and I enjoy doing thoughtful things for others. I am affectionate, supportive and a good listener.
With family: I like to be happy and loving. I am very sensitive to rejection from my family and to family conflicts. I really like to be well thought of and need frequent reassurance. I love intimate talks and warm feelings.

I'll try tomorrow to get pictures of the kittens, who are thriving! I should have done it today, but the Internet was down most of the day. I did get some pictures this evening, but haven't got time to edit them. The babies are adorable. This week they've learned running and following The Mommy and Uncle DH and the Princess and the Dodger have learned kitten wrestling. None of them have yet agreed to eat food out of a food bowl, but we're working on it. Oh, and they got baths on Sunday. They'd been bathed before, with their previous Foster Mommy, so they handled it really well. The only complaints were when there was water in the face, which is understandable. They look *so* much better now, and Simba is hissing and growling much less. The babies were out and about in the house this evening, and Simba was keeping a close eye on them. He wasn't thinking of playing, nor was he babysitting, but he was watching them carefully.

Oh, and Simba has changed tactics. He's stopped hissing and growling at me (or DS) and is clearly attempting to prove that he is just as cute and cuddly as the kittens, so we don't need to keep them. This tactic isn't going to get rid of them any faster, of course, but it's much more pleasant for me! DH and I figure he'll decide to accept the kittens right about the time they go back to the shelter for their operations and adoptions.

My depression is much better. I think it's still there, but it's definitely better. For which I am thankful!

Mine was blue, too. Took me a while to get to taking the quiz.

I hope you're doing OK, Diane. I hardly get to see you any more.

I am doing incredibly well, interviewing for a "real" job (which you may know if you read my blog).

It's funny that you and me and Seastar (hi!!!) have blue brains. We do share the traits in common listed on the report. Or it could be one of those things that would pertain regardless.

Your site is just adorable. I'm very new to blogging, but I appreciate the nice things you said about my Hershey Kiss dishcloth. AND, I didn't realize you were an actress. I am too! Now how odd is that! And do you live in Texas? I live in Houston and am rehearsing INTO THE WOODS right now and then will be rehearsing URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL.
